Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas (SKK Migas) announced the signing of several strategic cooperation agreements in the upstream oil and gas sector at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2026.
“I emphasize that Indonesia is open to global investment. We warmly welcome international partners interested in taking part in the development of Indonesia’s upstream oil and gas industry,” SKK Migas Head Djoko Siswanto said in an official statement confirmed to ANTARA from Jakarta on Tuesday.
The agreements signed include a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PT Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia and Halliburton Worldwide Ltd., and an Offshore Support Vessel Time Charter Contract between PT Pelayaran Nasional Ekalya Purnamasari (ELPI) Samudra Offshore and Atlantic Maritime Group FZE.
Other agreements include a cooperation deal between PT Hidrokinetik Indo Pacific and Tara Industries LLC to establish a new surveying and mapping company based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, which will serve the oil and gas and subsea cable industries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
A further agreement between PT Luas Birus Utama and Tara Industries LLC covers the promotion and deployment of STARSEMAR Chemical Reservoir Stimulation.
According to Djoko, the signings reflect Indonesia’s commitment and readiness to engage in global energy cooperation.
Efforts to strengthen these strategic alliances come amid a steadily improving investment trend in Indonesia’s upstream oil and gas sector.
“Indonesia’s upstream oil and gas investment shows positive momentum. In 2025, investment reached US$14.9 billion and is projected to rise to US$17.87 billion in 2026, the highest in a decade,” Djoko said.
He added that through ADIPEC, SKK Migas hopes to build on this momentum by opening more partnership opportunities and attracting new investment to help achieve the projection.
Djoko also presented investment opportunities across 128 sedimentary basins, including other 65 basins that remain unexplored.
“This potential opens opportunities for global investors to take part in the development of Indonesia’s upstream oil and gas sector. The right investment, technology, and partnerships support will be a key to optimizing this potential, driving new resource discoveries, and strengthening production sustainability and national energy security,” he said.
